History

F.O. Akinrele & Co was established in 1959 and has over the past 5 decades, acquired substantial experience in the delivery of high quality legal advice to both public and private sectors in Nigeria.

F.O. Akinrele & Co. between the 1960s and 1980s gradually expanded its practice from a general law practice into the specialised corporate sector and became internationally respected for its ability to provide specialist integrated legal advice and solutions to the corporate commercial sector.

F.O. Akinrele & Co.’s 53 years of practice has involved the development of ideas and legal concepts across a wide range of practice areas from the Energy & Natural Resources sector to the Transport &
Telecommunications sectors and from the Banking & Financial Services sector to Project Financing & Infrastructure.

The firm currently maintains strong links across continents with international law firms and across borders within Africa through its management of a West African Network of correspondent law firms in 16 West African Countries from Senegal to Angola.

The third key component is our Partner knowledge and accessibility: Our work group approach provides a strong interface between clients and the firm. Clients can at all times contact Associates or Partners directly on any given project or work, which creates a strong sense of co-operation between us and our clients.

The fourth key component is our international and regional reach. As a fully integrated commercial law firm, we represent clients from a range of industries and service sectors, both public and private around the world, covering all aspects of corporate and commercial activity. It is important to our clients that we can draw on our extensive referral network in assisting our clients to save time and meet their commercial objectives.

Our partners are actively engaged in sitting as Patrons to University societies and our firm actively sponsors academic excellence.
